What Is Soft Washing?

Soft washing uses low-pressure water — under 500 PSI — combined with biodegradable cleaning solutions. Unlike pressure washing, which relies on force, soft washing uses chemistry to break down organic growth at a molecular level.

It's the manufacturer-recommended method for asphalt shingle roofs and is the only safe option for painted surfaces, stucco, and vinyl siding. Results last 4-6 times longer than pressure washing alone because it kills spores at the root.

How Soft Washing Works

1

Apply Solution

We spray a biodegradable cleaning solution that penetrates and breaks down algae, moss, and mildew at the root.

2

Let It Work

The solution dwells on the surface, killing organic growth and loosening stains — no scrubbing, no high pressure needed.

3

Gentle Rinse

A low-pressure rinse washes everything away, leaving your surfaces clean, bright, and protected for months.

Soft Washing FAQ

Is soft washing safe for my roof?+

Absolutely. Soft washing uses low pressure (under 500 PSI) with biodegradable cleaning solutions that kill algae and moss at the root. It's the manufacturer-recommended method for asphalt shingle roofs and won't void your roof warranty.

How long do soft washing results last?+

Soft washing results typically last 4–6 times longer than pressure washing alone — often 12–18 months in the Kansas City climate. Because it kills organic growth at the root rather than just blasting it off the surface, regrowth is much slower.

What surfaces should never be pressure washed?+

Asphalt shingle roofs, painted surfaces, vinyl siding, stucco, cedar shake, and window trim should all be soft washed — not pressure washed. High pressure can strip granules from shingles, chip paint, and force water behind siding.

Are the cleaning solutions safe for plants and pets?+

Yes. We use biodegradable, non-toxic cleaning solutions that break down naturally. We pre-wet your landscaping and cover sensitive plants before applying any solution, and rinse thoroughly afterward.
